TutorSource is looking for a mid-to-senior-level marketing manager to lead the marketing efforts of the TutorSource web application. This position will involve crafting an overall marketing strategy, including traditional, SEO/SEM, social media, school-based and word-of-mouth components, executing the strategy, and then tuning it through detailed analysis of sales and traffic metrics.
We are looking for someone who has at least two years of experience in marketing online applications, including experience in SEO/SEM, and who is looking for an opportunity to join and grow with a rapidly-growing company. The ideal candidate will be able to execute a marketing campaign from conception to implementation and analysis, and have a demonstrable track record of successful campaigns. You will also have a deep understanding of website analytics and optimization, click-path analysis, search engine marketing, copy-writing and content strategy and online user behavior. Experience in the education industry, especially marketing to students or parents, or online social applications would be a big plus.
Job responsibilities:
- Work closely with the executive team to define product marketing strategies and campaigns, and create and present detailed reports on the performance of those campaigns.
- Write and produce campaign deliverables, including flyers, press releases, emails, social media posts, and web site copy.
- Create and optimize Google AdWords campaigns.
- Manage lead conversion tracking and success metrics for both online and offline campaigns.
- Leverage the assets of TutorSource's parent company, Revolution Prep, including school, parent, and student contacts, to drive word-of-mouth business.
Required skills:
- At least 2 years experience in marketing web applications.
- A demonstrable portfolio of ideas and completed campaigns.
- Ability and desire to be "hands-on" with marketing campaigns (write copy, design materials, produce reports) -- this is not a position in which you conceive ideas and then hand them off to execute.
- Experience working with web analytic software like Google Analytics or Omniture.
- Enthusiasm for web application development (a "webby" mindset).
Pluses:
- VC-backed startup experience.
- Prior experience in the for-profit education sector.
- Prior experience in online social applications.
