Liveblogging is a very interesting phenomenon. Essentially it is just writing down information at the conference or meeting you are in attendance. Almost similar to taking a notebook and a pen, but with the added bonus that if you are a well respected person, potentially millions of people are going to be able to see and comment on the information you are receiving/inputting.

It seems like perhaps Twitter is better suited to liveblogging, since you must constantly save (as the blogger) and refresh (as the reader) otherwise.

Twitter may be easier to update, but I think live blogging holds more long term value. If you (or someone else) want to reference your live coverage after the event, it will be much harder to pull the information together on Twitter. With it being in a blog post, you reap the benefit of that content ongoing - plus you've got the potential to engage other readers around that (via the comments). If you're using Twitter, the tweets generally lose their value after the event is over.
