How to use twitter in B2B case?

Posted July 15th, 2009 by Aditi Sawhney

How to use Twitter in B2B scenario?

1) When a Business has a selected target demographcs (not consumer), in that case do you think twitter will be a good tool to use?

I see twitter as more of a B2C option.

2) If not twitter which other social media tool is perfect for B2B?

Looking forward to more insights and info regarding this.

Thanks

More info please... Thanks

@ Mike

Thanks for the info

@ Magdalena and @ Toni

You are right LinkedIn is definitely a better platform for B2B purposes.

Though I was wondering at times when catering for B2B there are some clients/services you dont want anyone else to know (or they may be not same for each and every client you have) , how do you tackle that when it comes to twitter ?

Good info ... Thanks

Well you don't tackle that

Well you don't tackle that when it comes to twitter. Take your secret business conversations to some private form of communication such as email, private messages, collaboration tools or anything else. You don't share secrets on social networks :)

Very True Toni Thanks for

Hi Aditi,

I would also agree that LinkedIn is a more efficient tool for B2B. There, you can use groups and have very specific conversations.

That said, Twitter still can (and should) be used for B2B. There are so many buisnesses out there that interact with one another, share news and exchange ideas via Twitter. Yet, it takes more time to build reliable relationships and communicate the right message in 140 characters.

Twitter can be used for B2B.

Twitter can be used for B2B. I use it for B2B, hubspot also uses it for B2B. There really isn't much difference in using twitter to sell to customers or to businesses.

If you're looking for perfect social media network for B2B, I'd go with LinkedIn.

Both / And...

Hi Aditi,

I was asking the same thing about a month ago as I was wanting to start a new twitter account for my marketing endevours. I had another twitter account as a nickname and I wanted to create a new one with my new name. I'm happy that I did because I'm really cherishing the relationships I'm (slowly) building with my new account. I'm also building a LinkedIn profile and I intend to be more active on that real soon. :)

Awesome ..

Somehow even I also think that LinkedIn makes more sense for B2B, than Twitter .

Thanks Dan
