Should one person lead the charge?

Posted July 27th, 2009 by rswiers

We are in the process of setting up a Twitter account for our agency (based on recommendations we heard during the webinar Twitter For Business hosted by HubSpot).  My question is this; should one person be the spokesperson for the agency or should multiple people have access to send tweets?

We Have Multiple Tweeters

Here at HubSpot, we have multiple people who respond to and tweet from the @hubspot account. We're still figuring out which tools are best for managing multiple users (CoTweet is one of the tools we're experimenting with), but our volume is too much for one person to keep track of. If you don't have a huge volume of Twitter correspondence to keep up with, it's probably easiest to stick with a single person on the account.

Hope this helps.

Have You Looked into CoTweet?

CoTweet was recently released to the general public. For quite some time, it's been used by larger companies such as Ford, Starbucks, Coke, JetBlue, etc. There are many features specifically designed for businesses such as multiple accounts and multiple users, tweet assignments, on-duty notifications and much more. Check it out and come back and let me know what you think.

One spokesperson

Good question..

My suggestion is to appoint one person as a spokesperson so that whatever gets posted on twitter he/she knows about it.

It will help in NOT posting mixed and repetitive messages, which may be a case when multiple people are tweeting. Appointed person can also maintain a bit.ly account which will be helpful in giving insights against each and everylink posted on twitter.

You can ask everyone at the workplace to pass anything interesting or any scoops that needs to be tweeted to the "appointed" person.

Hope this helps
