Obama has introduced a jobs bill to Congress. The bill would offer $447 billion in jobs funding and tax cuts. Ambitious small-business owners would get an extra boost with the brand new jobs bill. Business people in every state would have tax credits and more advantages. People will be able to start new businesses without taking out huge installment loans.
I think I wear more. I have successfully outsourced the accounting hat but I got some others. I have to be the chief strategist of my business, I have to decide what deal will bring me nearer to my goals and when to say no to a client (and here is the hardest part of this "hat"). I am also the "doer" at least for some of the business and the "coach" for my small team.
All small business owners wear so many more on any given day. These are the general ones that tend to stand out the most. I do agree with the when to say no being hard. Another hard one is beign the client contact and then when they are in arrears being the accountant or if like you they outsourced being the one they call when they get calls on overdue bills.
Being a small business owner has it perks but with that comes a lot of hats to wear to be able to keep up.
Overall the biggest hat small business owners wear is Decision Maker.
A hat I've worn that I would not recommend is #6. Lawyer. Wear this hat at your own risk!!! As much as we all hate paying legal fees, something as simple as a contract should be reviewed by a lawyer. Suzanne, as a business owner, I'm sure you know this, but it's amazing how many people don't. I think a good follow up to this article would be the five hats that you should never wear. Add self-funded liability insurer to that list :-)
Laywer - I agree on that one! I was a paralegal years ago and keep up on case law regularily but laywers are know their field. Insurance is another field that one should not delve into alone. The reality is to reach out to people who do it everyday as they generally know best.
There are tons of hats that a small bus owner wears and I generally try and simplify but yet be realistic.
thanks for the comment. I am sure we shall interact more.

Hi Suzanne,
I think I wear more.
Thanks,
Adrian
