Best Analytics packages Suggested for Small and Large Companies?

Posted June 19th, 2009 by Winnie Henchey

In the "Analyzing Inbound Mtkg session", Marshall Sponder suggested the strongest tool to analyze web traffic for small business would probably be Google Analytics (because does a lot and free for those with limited budgets) However, he mentioned there was a leader for measuring web traffic for big businesses (which have privacy issues) what was the name of that market leader?

Thanks

It's Omniture Site Catalyst - that's what I meantioned in my session.

This is how I think about it...

Free, powerful, but complicated:
- Google Analytics (analytics only)

Good for small/medium businesses, affordable:
- HubSpot (analytics integrated with included software for blogging, social media, landing pages, etc.)

Good for big businesses, expensive:
- Cormetrics (analytics only)
- WebTrends (analytics only)
- Omniture (analytics and some optimization tools)
- Eloqua / Manticore / Marketo / Silverpop (some analytics, but more lead management and email)

It's no secret they are probably referring to Coremetrics.
